Behind the electro-pop-rock project is vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist **Kelsey**. While he is recording the Blak Emoji tracks by himself with the finishing touches of different producers, Kelsey expands his solo act to a four-piece band when playing live. We are lucky to having caught Blak Emoji at [Pianos](http://www.pianosnyc.com/?ref=glamglare.com) (review [here](https://wp.glamglare.com/music/2016/05/09/blak-emoji-gives-a-charismatic-performance-at-pianos/?ref=glamglare.com)), at Festival 8 that Kelsey put together (review [here](https://wp.glamglare.com/music/2016/08/22/photos-festival-8-cmon-everybody/?ref=glamglare.com)), booked the band for our own Northside Festival showcase (review [here](https://wp.glamglare.com/music/2016/06/16/blak-emoji-glamglare-audiofemme-showcase/?ref=glamglare.com)) and recently saw Blak Emoji at one of the biggest stages and venues New York City has to offer: [Irving Plaza](http://venue.irvingplaza.com/?ref=glamglare.com). Blak Emoji is currently recording and the debut EP is to be expected later this or early next year. It’ll be worth the wait in any case!
